Madeline M. Calvert 96, Oblong, IL passed away at 9:34 am at Crawford Memorial Hospital on Thursday November 3, 2016.

VISITATION will be 11:00 am -1:00pm Monday November 7, 2016 at Pulliam Funeral Home in Oblong, IL.

CELEBRATION OF MADELINE’S LIFE SERVICE will be at 1:00 pm Monday November 7, 2016 at Pulliam Funeral Home in Oblong, IL. Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery rural Oblong.

The family requests that an expression of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Oblong American Legion Post #219 Auxiliary. Envelopes at or may be mailed to Pulliam Funeral Home P.O. Box 121 Oblong, IL 62449.

Madeline was born in Jasper County, IL on September 30, 1920 to Laverne and Letha (Hargis) Robinson. On December 25, 1941 she married Robert Bruce “Bob” Calvert who preceded her in death on November 5, 1983.

Madeline worked at the Oblong Index for 28 years retiring in 1983. She attended Jasper County Schools. She was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church of Oblong, Oblong American Legion Post 219 Auxiliary and the Oblong Road Runners Club. Madeline enjoyed playing bingo, going to Casinos but especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Madeline is survived by one daughter and son-in-law Judy and Bob Greer of Georgetown, IL. Grandchildren Amy and Tom Brown Austin, TX, Andy Albin and Nicole Pryor Charleston, IL, Robin and Eric Jogun, Bolingbrook, IL and Mary Margaret and Brian Ritzhemier, North Aurora, IL. Great Grandchildren Brandon Brown, Zach Albin, Kaylin Albin, Beau Brown, Caleb Ritzhemier, Jacob Albin, Grant Albin, Ethan Brown, Isabelle Brown and Samantha Brown. She is also survived by close family friends Mary Middleton, Susie and Kelly Tracy and their daughters Kim and Krista

Preceding Madeline in death were her parents, husband, two brothers Loren and Paul Robinson and two sisters Anice Robinson and Donna Richardson.
